Padjadjaran University has increasingly established itself as a leading university in the world rankings, ranking among the top 300 in legal studies. In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject 2025, Unpad's Law program is ranked 301+ globally. This position by THE WUR reinforces the world ranking of Law, following its placement in April 2024 in a similar position by another global ranking, the QS WUR by Subject 2024.
THE WUR and QS WUR are leading ranking organizations that measure the performance of educational institutions worldwide. In its latest release, THE WUR announced its rankings of educational institutions based on 11 subject areas: arts and humanities, business and economics, computer science, education studies, engineering, law, life sciences, medicine and health, physical sciences, psychology, and social sciences.
"We are certainly grateful that more and more reputable ranking institutions are recognizing Unpad's quality improvement. For example, the Faculty of Law, which was previously recognized by QS WUR By Subject, is now recognized by THE WUR By Subject. Hopefully, this will motivate Unpad to achieve even greater quality".
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Sigid Suseno, S.H., M.Hum., expressed his gratitude and thanks to the lecturers, educational staff, students, and alumni who have worked hard to improve educational governance within the Faculty of Law Unpad. Dr. Sigid also thanked the university for its support of various established innovation programs.
"We should be grateful for this ranking, but it is not the goal. "The reputation we have achieved is meaningless if it cannot bring benefits to the institution, the academic community, and the community," said Dr. Sigid.
The Head of the University Strategic Development and Reputation Unit (SPSRU), Prof. Mohamad Fahmi, emphasized that these results demonstrate positive trends in several areas, including the inclusion of Computer Science in the 801–1000 rankings and the significant improvement of Law, which is now ranked 301+.
"These results demonstrate that Unpad is increasingly being recognized in the global academic landscape. The inclusion of Computer Science in the rankings and the surge in Law are evidence that the strategy of strengthening research, increasing publications, and international collaboration is starting to bear fruit," said Prof. Fahmi.
