
ICLOS is a study center with a scientific and expert group in the field of maritime law, particularly international maritime law. ICLOS consists of lecturers and researchers from the Department of International Law specializing in international maritime law. However, ICLOS also accommodates lecturers and researchers from other work units conducting related studies related to international maritime law.
ICLOS's vision is to become a leading research center in the field of maritime law in Indonesia, contributing to marine sustainability. To achieve this, ICLOS has the following mission:
ICLOS has pioneered collaborations with several partners/institutions, including: the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia; the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia; the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia; and the Maritime Security Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. This collaboration includes formulating/providing input regarding the implementation of international law in Indonesian waters, organizing seminars/focused discussion groups (FGDs), and training on international maritime law.
