The Department of Civil Law is one of the oldest departments at the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, alongside International Law, Criminal Law, and National Law. The Department comprises several lecturers who teach civil law courses and supervise several designated courses, which are mandatory for the Department.
The Department of Civil Law is a highly sought-after major due to the breadth of material covered. Graduates from the Department of Civil Law hold key positions in banking, research, judges, lawyers, and civil servants in central and regional governments, due to the extensive civil law material related to agreements, contract drafting, and civil procedure. The Department of Civil Law also serves as a foundation for further study in the Master of Notary Program, which aims to become Notaries and Land Deed Officials (PPAT).
The Department of Civil Law continuously carries out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education activities, including teaching, research, and community service, involving undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
The Department of Civil Law conducts training programs, legal consultations at the Unpad Legal Aid Bureau, various training activities, seminars, webinars, and focus group discussions. Lecturers in the Department of Civil Law also actively serve as resource persons at various scientific events and as expert witnesses in court.
