The Department of Constitutional Law was founded by Prof. Dr. Sri Soemantri, who was the youngest member of the Constituent Assembly in 1959 and Chair of the Constitutional Commission in 2003. The Department of Constitutional Law also has several honorary members, namely Prof. Bagir Manan, who was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia (2001-2008) and Chair of the Press Council (2010-2016). The Department of Constitutional Law focuses on learning and curriculum development in courses related to constitutional law at the Faculty of Law. In addition, the Department of Constitutional Law also has various research activities related to various constitutional issues as well as mentoring or guidance for students who are participating in competitions or are interested in conducting research in the field of Constitutional Law.
The Department of Constitutional Law, Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, has a study center, the Center for State Policy Studies, Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University (PSKN FH Unpad). PSKN FH Unpad has several research activities, including:
